Housekeeper and her daughter.
At my grandma's, she cleans the house and does lot of other odd jobs with 3 kids, youngest being about 5. Tough journey for the daughter who has difficulty just attending school and is banking on education to get a job and a man to help her family live. Intelligent and hard-working. Currently attending Mt. Zion College near Pudukkottai in the Tamilnadu state about 250 miles from Chennai.
I have visited my grandmother in 2004, 2006 and when she passed on last year. The mom has asked me if I could help in her daughter's education. I said would try.
Her daughter's name is S. Dharani. She was born on August 8, 1988 and baptized as a Christian on October 23, 1988. The designation is St. Thomas Church, Perumalai-624108, Madurai District. Her Christian name is Resany Sangeetha Rani according to the papers.
In school reports cards, it is S. Dharani. I have the Secondary School Leaving Certificate. She graduated from CC Girls HSS Kottaiyur. Currently like I mentioned, she is attending Mt. Zion College in Karaikudi. I was supposed to be main person to pay off her education debt. Her father is nowhere to be seen and even though the mom is a Christian, she very afraid to ask people above her caste to ask for help. Can't blame her. My relatives aren't really nice to outsiders. My real mother doesn't give anything. Yet, she can be a bit pushy pn the soft but she is living day to day and trying to survive. She is strong and has a will that doesn't break.
I first tried to ask Jimmy Carr a preacher in Charlotte about what to do. When I gave him a surprise call, he blew me off and thought I was mooching. I tried churches here in Sandy Springs, Ga another blow off. I called Christian organizations and they said that they can only give scholarships and money to those who attend Christian Colleges in the United States. I guess only United States is Christian country. I hope you don't read this, Jeyapackiam (mother's name). She does speak and read English and does teach Sunday school at her church.
I gave her $200 dollars to her education about a year ago. I haven't sent any money since. I'm trying to put a plan of sending 20 dollars a month to her. I don't know if it will help pay for the education but I'm going to try. The Register at Mt. Zion, she is behind payments.
